In addition to renewable natural gas (RNG), Verbio’s production process generates a valuable co-product known as humus, a nutrient-rich material similar in appearance to peat moss or compost. Humus is highly valued as a soil amendment that helps return nutrients and organic matter to the soil following harvest. It is virtually odor-free, has excellent water-holding capacity due to its high lignin content, and can be applied in solid form using conventional manure-spreading equipment.

On average, one cubic yard of humus contains:

• 750 pounds of water
• 225 pounds of organic matter (primarily lignin and other carbon compounds)
• 10 pounds of nitrogen
• 10 pounds of phosphorus
• 4 pounds of potassium
• 3 pounds of magnesium

In addition, Verbio produces two sustainable liquid fertilizers under the Verbio CropCare® product line. These products provide essential nutrients, including nitrogen, sulfur, and potassium, to support healthy crop growth, improve soil fertility, and reduce reliance on synthetic fertilizers helping growers maintain productive and sustainable farming practices.
