Bioethanol

Ethanol fuels are now used all over the world as biofuel in internal combustion engines and its use as a fuel substitute or additive in motor vehicles has increased in recent years.

Bioethanol is an alcohol which is produced by fermenting raw materials containing sugar and starch. It is produced from grain which may be unsuitable for food production and animal feed and purchased from regional partners. The main buyer of bioethanol is the oil industry for blending into the gasoline supply.

Verbio has developed a proprietary cold mashing process – an energy-saving production method in which the mash is heated to only a slightly increased temperature compared to traditional bioethanol production methods.

Verbio has also developed a unique technology to convert thin stillage, a by-product of bioethanol production, into biomethane and a residual ammonium sulfate fertilizer solution.
