Des Moines, IA (January 30, 2024): Verbio North America is demonstrating its technology and innovative competencies again at this year`s Iowa Ag Expo, January 30 - February 1, hosted at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines, IA. The company, a subsidiary of Europe`s leading biofuels producer Verbio SE, will be showcasing to visitors at booth #614 how renewable natural gas (RNG) is made from crop residues.

Displaying cutting-edge agricultural technology and services, the Iowa Ag Expo is one of the largest indoor farm shows in North America, featuring more than 700 exhibitors from 26 states. The Verbio team will not only deep dive into its sustainable technology of converting surplus corn stover to RNG, but also introduce its new plant-based fertilizer product line.

“The unique Verbio technology stands out by coupling biomethane, bioethanol and plant-based fertilizer production,” says Greg Faith, Verbio Nevada plant President and General Manager. “As the first of its kind in North America, our biorefinery uses a smart closed-loop system that stands for maximum sustainability, leaving nothing to waste. Sustainability is literally in our DNA. We are excited to showcase our technology at the Iowa Ag Expo and aim to create valuable collaborations with Iowa growers that empower them with an innovative residue management solution and help the environment at the same time.”

Verbio CropCare: Sustainable fertilizing with high value products
In addition to showcasing our biorefinery technology approach, Verbio will be introducing four different plant-based fertilizer products. All products of the Verbio CropCare line are co-products from a complex bioenergy production process that efficiently uses all raw materials with minimal CO2 emissions. Verbio already offers a stover humus to growers, which acts as a soil conditioner. Samples will be provided at the Verbio booth. With the start of ethanol production at its Nevada, Iowa plant commencing operations in the spring, Verbio will be able to expand its product line. The company will offer two liquid fertilizers (ASL and NPK) for retail, as well as an ethanol humus product which is highly valued as a soil amendment that increases the soil organic matter and improves soil aeration and drainage.

New milestones and further growth for the company
“Where agriculture meets innovation” – following the farm show`s claim, Verbio`s business model combines technology, sustainability and innovation. “We are currently focusing on completing construction at our Nevada, IA location in order to be able to fully operate as an innovative biorefinery plant. For 2024 we are looking forward to reaching this milestone and to growing further. Our main goal is to intensify our agronomists` connection with growers in the area, to show them how their businesses can benefit from what we do, and to pave a greener path not only for the US agriculture, but also for other industries,” Greg Faith concludes.
